Frequently asked questions.

What can Women Who Work offer me?

We want to support ambitious woman in professional services who will be returning, or have returned, to work from maternity leave. We aim to provide support and encouragement by creating a network for professional women, sharing experiences and tips and providing great content including blogs, podcasts and interviews with inspiring women.

We would also love to change the status quo by making childcare more affordable and normalising paternity leave (see below) - let’s get more women into senior positions!

Do you want to change the status quo? How?

Yes, absolutely! Ultimately we have two policy aims:

  1. To make childcare tax deductible (why is it that golf memberships can be tax deductible but childcare is not?!); and

  2. To normalise the taking of paternity leave.

We think these aims would encourage more women to return to work and would put women on more of a level playing field in the workplace with men. After all, parenting is a shared responsibility so let’s make it truly a shared responsibility…

What childcare arrangements do you have?

Alexandra and Joy have taken different approaches to childcare, which is great because we can share with you different solutions. Joy has a full time nanny and Alexandra’s daughter is in full time nursery. Watch out for our blog on this topic!

How can I get involved?

Please do sign up as a member on the “Get in Touch” page. We would love to hear from you and to hear your experiences. Let’s change things together!

We also have a survey that you can take to help us gather information about how best to support you.

You can also get involved by sharing Women Who Work with your friends, writing a blog for us with your experiences and being on our podcast!
